Privacy Policy
Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE โ e.g. June 13, 2026]
This Privacy Policy explains how JumpTree ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the JumpTree mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
The short version
- JumpTree is local-first: your workouts, profile, settings, and impact progress are stored on your device, not on our servers. We do not operate a user account system and never ask for your name or email.
- We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand usage and fix crashes, and Google AdMob to show ads that help keep the App free and fund reforestation.
- You control ad personalization through your device's tracking settings and the in-app consent prompts, and you can erase all local data at any time from the App's Settings.
Information we collect
Information stored only on your device
The following is created and kept locally on your device and is not transmitted to us: your workout history, optional profile details (such as fitness level, weight, and unit preference), app settings (theme, language, sound), saved custom workouts, challenge progress, and your in-app "droplets"/trees impact totals. If you uninstall the App or use "Reset all data," this information is removed.
Information collected automatically by third-party services
To run, improve, and monetize the App, we rely on Google services that collect data on our behalf:
- Firebase Analytics (Google). Aggregated, pseudonymous usage data โ events (e.g., starting or completing a workout), device and app information (model, OS version, app version, language), and approximate location derived from IP address. We attach a randomly generated, anonymous install ID that is not linked to your real-world identity.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google). Crash and stability diagnostics (device state, stack traces) so we can fix problems.
- Google AdMob. Serves ads in the App. Depending on your consent and device settings, AdMob may access advertising identifiers (Apple's IDFA / Android's Advertising ID) and ad-interaction data to deliver and measure personalized or non-personalized ads.
How we use information
- Provide and operate the App's features.
- Understand how the App is used and improve it.
- Diagnose crashes and maintain stability.
- Show ads that support the App and fund our reforestation mission.
- Maintain security and comply with legal obligations.
Advertising and your choices
Ads in JumpTree are provided by Google AdMob. You can control how ads use your information:
- iOS (App Tracking Transparency). On first relevant use we ask whether the App may track you across other companies' apps and websites. You can change this anytime in Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Tracking.
- European Economic Area, UK & Switzerland (GDPR). We present a Google-certified consent message (UMP) before serving personalized ads and let you update your choice later. Declining limits ads to non-personalized.
- United States. Where applicable state laws provide opt-out rights (e.g., "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information"), you can exercise them via the in-app privacy options.
- Android. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings.
Learn more about how Google uses data when you use our App: google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR applies, we process data based on: your consent (for personalized advertising and related identifiers); our legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the App and to show non-personalized ads); and legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time through the in-app privacy options or your device settings.
Your rights
Because the App is local-first and does not tie data to your identity, much of your data never leaves your device and can be erased directly:
- Erase your data: use Settings โ Reset all data in the App, or uninstall the App, to remove all locally stored information.
- EEA/UK (GDPR): rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and data portability for any personal data we control.
- California & other US states (CCPA/CPRA and similar): rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money.
To exercise rights involving data held by us, contact us at luisrodriguezdev@gmail.com. For data processed by Google, you may also use Google's privacy controls.
Data retention
Locally stored data persists on your device until you reset it or uninstall the App. Analytics and crash data processed by Google are retained according to Google's retention policies.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers described above (Google Firebase and AdMob) to operate the App, and where required by law. See Google's Privacy Policy.
International data transfers
Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children's privacy
JumpTree is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
